About : Drying or Curing

As the shirts are printed the ink is wet and needs to be properly cured or dried. Shirts are placed on a conveyor belt which moves them inside the dryer where temperature is maintained at 980 degrees. The shirts stay inside for about 35-40 seconds. This process heats the ink to about 350 degrees, which is the optimum curing temperature.

At the end of the dryer, a person checks for proper curing of the ink, and quality of printing. Adjustments are made to dryer temperature and/or speed of the belt as needed.
